What does being a part of the Spectrum dealer team mean to you?
It means being part of a good company that is customer focused and has the customers best interest in mind with what they do. Particularly with research and pricing.
How has the company changed over the years?
I’ve been a dealer for Spectrum since 2011. It has grown from a small shop to a little bit of a larger focus rather than a regional focus.
Why do your customers like Spectrum Non-GMO?
They like the fact that it is a local company and they like the range of products from early products to full season. They like the price points and there is value in our price point.
Where do you see Spectrum in 5 years?
I see it growing, particularly if we build awareness the whole non-gmo market is growing and spectrum is a leader in that market with our products and our non-gmo focus. A lot of companies offer non-gmo products but they are an afterthought and are not their front-line offering.
How long have you been a seed dealer/in the seed industry and what drives you every day?
I have been a Spectrum Seed dealer since 2011 and been in the seed business since 1991…26 years. I enjoy the customers and the companies that I work with. That’s the big drive. I enjoy what I am doing. Even days when I am sitting in the office and watching it rain like crazy.
On a scale of your choice, how much fun do we have here at Spectrum?
An 8 I don’t give anybody 10’s, so it’s fun.
Any other knowledge you would like to share or famous quotes you want to be remembered by?
I like the way Spectrum does business and like the customer focus and the ability to work with people in special situation. For instance, bringing 2 bags of untreated seed realizing it was important to the customer. Special requests can happen and you guys are trying to do everything right for the customer.
